Saturday Physics Honors Program -- Department of Physics, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

November 1 was Physics Day!

On November 1, 2003 Professor Alfred Hübler presented "Complex Systems: Where Physics Meets Life."
Tours of research labs followed the lecture.

The talk will cover several complex systems paradigms, such as "adapatation to the edge of chaos" and "minimum resistancs fractals". There will be several lecture demos on chaos and pattern formation. The presentation will show that certain properties of living systems are general properties of open dissipative physical systems such as turbulent flow, lightning, and the flow of information
through the internet.
