Paul Kwiat, Department of Physics, UIUC
2005 marks the 100th
anniversary of Einstein's "Miracle Year", in which he published
several groundbreaking papers that forever changed the face of physics,
science, and indeed human civilization. Dr. Kwiat will give a
"common-man" overview of the central scientific discoveries (with
heavy use of demonstrations), and discuss their broad-ranging impact on
our understanding
of the universe and on our daily lives.
